The first general texts on clay mineralogy history of environmental science and the practical applications of clay, were published some 40-50 years ago by Grim R.E. Since then, a vast literature has accumulated but this information is scattered history of environmental science and not always accessible. The Handbook of Clay Science aims at assembling the scattered literature on the varied history of environmental science and diverse aspects that make up the discipline of clay science. The topics covered range from the fundamental structures (including textures) history of environmental science and properties of clays history of environmental science and clay minerals, through their environmental, health history of environmental science and industrial applications, to their analysis history of environmental science and characterization by modern instrumental techniques.
